Q. What should I expect at my first surf lesson?
At your first lesson we will teach you the basics of standing up, board and ocean safety on the sand. With a few practice pop ups we will head into the water and push you into waves to help you practice standing up and riding the wave. Most lessons begin in only waist to chest deep water so you can feel confident.
Q. What should I bring to my surf lesson?
You should bring a towel, bathing suit, sunscreen and water with you. All lessons include the use of a soft top surfboard and a wetsuit.
Q. How much are beginner surf lessons?
The cost depends on the length of the lesson and the quantity of people in your party.
2 Hour Lesson:
1 person | $150 per person
2 people | $130 per person
3 or more people | $110 per person
1 Hour Lesson:
1 person | $100 per person
2 people | $90 per person
3 or more people | $80 per person
Q. How many surf lessons do I need?
Typically a one hour surf lesson is plenty of time to get you up and riding waves. If you want to perfect your skills, usually a two hour lesson or a couple one hour lessons are enough for you to feel quite comfortable surfing on your own.
Q. What’s the difference between surf lessons and surf coaching?
Our surf lessons are geared toward a first time surfer or beginner surfers who are still learning the basics of surfing. Surf coaching is designed for intermediate to advanced surfers who are working to improve their technique and surfing skills…from wave selection to learning to do an air.
Q. What are your booking policies?
A $50 deposit is required at booking in order to reserve the appointment time. Surf lesson bookings must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance in order to be eligible for a deposit refund. No shows and cancellations within the 24 hour period are not eligible for a refund and will result in forfeiture of deposit paid.
Q. Do you accept charter school funds?
A Yes! We are approved to work with many local charter schools such as Pacific Coast Academy, Mission Vista Academy, Cabrillo Point Academy and more. Please contact us if you’d like to learn more or set up using your school funds.
